The Spirit of the Muse by *Ainohimitsu:iconAinohimitsu:

Black as the blood of night
the white glow of moon eyes
Fire dancing on the lips
the caress, a wind-swept kiss

In the poet's teardrops
where time starts and the heart stops
A walk among the stars
where the soul's freed from its bars

Born before humankind
of phoenix breath, sunrise
Ancient, ageless, no name
of gods' flesh, Love's mould the same

A mirror's reflection
evading detection,
save through the poet's hand...
in words she can't understand

Wrought from pain, forged with will
so quiet, the mind still
The poet hears her muse,
her tears are falling for you

For the mini-contest this week: word therapy.

What can I say about this one? It...has a few inspiration sources (like some weird song called "Bad Day"...some new age pop artist I can't remember...I think it's where "itch" idea came from)...

I want to thank the goddess first and foremost, and next I want to thank my English professor Dr. L, whom I have had three classes with and have written a poem for (It's on here...the Emerson poem).

I'm taking African American Lit. with him, and he moved me nearly to tears with his passion again this morning. I haven't felt "alive" for a class in a long time. I was deathly afraid I was burning out.

I never thought I was going to be able to write something in time... it was hard for some reason. It started out as me wanting to write about the need to write being like and itch and somehow relating it to a drug addict... but this is what came out. And it's...one of my best in a long while.

I'm glad I prayed to the Muse for inspiration.

Thank you for reading.

from a place no one knows." ;P

Gotta love being a writer, ne?

it was a bad day. the sun exploded;
the earth roiled and tore entire cities asunder;
the bus in front of my car crashed violently and everyone died;
i ran out of green tea.
